I selected this video because we are working the recipes in English and Spanish, so I liked this one because is attractive for them to cook pizza and prepare the pizza dough. Besides, the father is cooking with his children and I think is a good idea for them to do the same at home.

The L.O. for the session were:

a.       Learn new vocabulary related to food
b.      Learn new verbs related to cook
c.       Identify the ingredients and the actions
d.      Design a recipe in groups

The sequence of activities were:

A.      Pre-listening activites:
Use a magic shopper bag, they have to guess what it is inside. Through the PEPP approach, they will learn and practise the new vocabulary
B.      While-listening activities:
They will have to answer some questions embedded in the video
C.      Post-listening activities:
In groups, the will have to reproduce the preparation of Jamie’s pizza, using a template to fill the gaps.
After that, they will have to design their ideal pizza, using the vocabulary learnt before and present it to the rest of the classroom.

I preferred not to flip the class because I had to send parent’s permissions. We watched the video in the classroom and answered the questions in groups.

I have to tell that this tool is fantastic for the teacher. Very easy to use, very practical and I am going to use it a lot in the future. I usually used this kind of activities where children have to watch a video and answer questions because my book has it, so they are used to work in this way, but always I wanted to use authentic videos and cut them, in fact I was thinking on doing a Premiere course because I love recording videos, but I do not know how to produce them.

They enjoyed with the magic bag, they love when I use it, and they enjoyed with the post-listening activity of preparing their pizzas in group using ingredients in paper which they brought from supermarket brochures.


Next time, I will record my voice in the video. I think I will surprise them with the idea next time! My relationship with this tool is starting, so I think I have too much of improving.
