USING GENIALLY TO DEVELOP A PROJECT ABOUT INDIA
NAME
OF THE MINI PROJECT: ‘We are experts on India’
PROJECT’S STAGES for my GROUP OF
YEAR 3rd
FINAL TASK: Pupils make a presentation about India using
Genially
1st STAGE:
Children
want to know how to design and present India to the rest of the classes
They
define the two driving questions for the project
They
use Padlet to share and stick notes and information (brainstorming)
2nd STAGE:
We
organize the groups with three pupils with different levels (average, medium,
low)
We
set the roles, the rules and the deadlines for the project and all of them will
have a checklist on the table in order to complete each stage of the task
I
introduce them Genially and all groups are going to use the same model: a
presentation
Video
tutorial in class and at home to learn how to use Genially
3rd STAGE:
They
will receive a high amount of input, they will research to answer the driving
questions and work on receptive skills during the first session and on the
productive ones in the last sessions.
Pupils
create a mind map with different categories such as: Map, Flag and coin, Language,
People, Food.
Working
in each category, they search for information. If they don’t know some key
word, they google the vocabulary in Google Images and infer the meaning. Then
use the online dictionary to know how to pronounce them.
I
will collect the words of each category and children will learn at home the
words by means of flashcards and games: I will give them a link in Quizlet with
the flashcards and games to complete.
Here I have some of the exercises, activities and tasks
they will have to complete in some sessions and help them create the final task:

presentation about India using realia: During the presentation, children take notes
about ideas for their own presentation of their projects. It is a modeling task.
Listen

with his fingers.
Using
this sentences they will have ideas and sentence models to complete the Genially

Write
in group a sentence to include in each category
Watching
a video about India
Using
a script a model, they writes the script for the presentation
Use
of the checklist to guide and assess the writing
4th STAGE:
Pupils
assume the roles and rehearse the script.
Use
of the checklist to check all the job for the final recording
5th STAGE:
